Sgt. Omar Avila dedicated his life to the service of our country when he joined the U.S. Army in 2004 as an infantryman. Three years later, during an active deployment in Iraq, his vehicle was struck by a 200lb IED. The damage was unimaginable – resulting in burns to 75% of his body followed by the amputation of his right leg just below his knee cap. Returning home, he found the devastation expanded beyond his physical state and was in need of financial, mental, and emotional support. This is when he met Sons of the Flag, a nonprofit that provided the support he needed to overcome this tragedy. Sgt. Avila has since committed himself to his fellow veterans by serving as liaison for Sons of the Flag.

We were so moved by Sgt. Avila’s story that we had to help. We created a Military Themed bag, filled it with our mouthwatering traditional flavored jerky, and committed to donating a portion of all sales Of this bag, to support Sgt Avila’s cause.
